FLU VACCINES 2020
Posted on 25 Sep 2020
There is a big difference in the way that flu vaccine is being delivered to patients this year.
GP Practices will only be vaccinating patients aged between 18-64 in at risk categories. Please contact the practice on 0141 314 9313 option 2 to book your appointment. The following at risk groups would be eligible for a flu vaccine.
- Chronic respiratory disease
- Chronic heart disease
- Chronic kidney disease
- Chronic liver disease
- Chronic neurological disease
- Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
- Morbid Obesity (class III obesity)*
For all other patients, please wait for your letter to arrive advising you where to attend for your flu vaccine. This information will not come from the Practice. More information can be found on the NHS Inform website under Flu Vaccine. The Renfrewshire HSCP will deliver these vaccinations from a centralised hub, further information regarding this will be sent directly to eligible patients, we DO NOT have any further information on these hubs. We are not being supplied with the child nasal spray or the Over 65s flu vaccine this year. Please ONLY contact your GP Practice if you are in the 18-64 at risk cohort.
Pregnant patients will be given their flu vaccination by the midwifes.
We appreciate that this will cause some inconvenience for patients having to attend somewhere different this year for their vaccination, however we would strongly encourage you to take the time to get vaccinated against flu.
